Post 2006 named “AMVETS Post of the Year”

Huron Valley AMVETS Post 2006 member-volunteers spend over 40,000 man-hours and logged over 60,000 miles, including dozens of military honors at burials for any requesting funeral homes or families at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan – oftentimes staying there to perform military honors for any unplanned honors for random families who didn’t know how to request them. Among their proudest accomplishments in the last year was honoring over 700 Veterans at schools, senior living and hospice facilities during November Veterans Day weeks and handing out over 4,000 USA flags annually during the June Flag Days in Milford, Michigan.

Huron Valley AMVETS Post 2006 was proud to be named “AMVETS Post of the Year” at the AMVETS of Michigan Convention, June 20, 2026.

Also, Post 2006 member Henry Storm Sr. was named “AMVET of the Year” and presented with a very deserved award for his service to other Veterans from the State of Michigan.
