AMVETS WHITE CLOVER SERVICE

OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN, WE ARE HERE TO EXTEND THESE FINAL EARTHLY TRIBUTES TO OUR BELOVED VETERAN. ACCEPT OUR PRAYERS ON BEHALF OF THE SOUL OF THY SERVANT DEPARTED. WELCOME (HIM/HER) TO THY HOUSE TO REST IN PEACE. LOOK WITH MERCY UPON THE LOVED ONES BEREAVED BY (HIS/HER) PASSING.

COMFORT AND CONSOLE THEM WITH THY DIVINE TENDERNESS. THE MARCH OF THY SERVANT IS OVER AND (HE/SHE) LIETH DOWN IN THY HOUSE TO REST. LOOK KINDLY UPON THY SERVANT AND UPON ALL OF US, AS ONE BY ONE, WE WILL ANSWER THY FINAL ORDERS THAT SUMMON US BACK TO THEE. MAY THE BLESSING AND BENEDICTION OF HEAVEN BE UPON ____________________ AND ALL OUR BRETHEREN WHO HAVE FALLEN OUT TO TAKE THEIR PLACE IN THE GREAT REVIEW HEREAFTER.

THIS WE PRAY IN JESUS NAME, AMEN.

AMVETS MEMBERS WILL NOW PERFORM A PASS & REVIEW IN RESPECT OF OUR FALLEN BRETHEREN.

THE MARCH OF OUR COMRADE HAS ENDED

AMVETS – Please Uncover

Almighty God, with whom do live the spirits of those who depart hence, in the Lord, and with whom the souls of the faithful after death are in strength and gladness. We give Thee hearty thanks for the good examples of all Thy servants who, having finished their course in faith, do now rest from their labor.

The cemeteries have become their bivouac area. The cold and silent stone or bronze whispers the name of the one who sleeps beneath the little sod tent that marks their dwelling place. As the gentle breeze kisses our cheeks and awakens our silent and muted tongues, we pledge anew the flame of valor, love, and honor which shall never be extinguished.

To those now silent battalions marching before Thee, O God, we plead for renewed strength and power to preserve all for which they served and fought for. Father, with reverence and love we pause to pay tribute to our honored and valiant departed (Brother/Sister). Grant that we may be ever mindful of ____________________’s service to God, Country and (His/Her) membership in AMVETS. Hallow ____________________’s grave, give courage and comfort to our (Brother’s/Sister’s) family and friends, having suffered the loss of a loved one.

Father, watch over the graves of all of our (Brother’s/Sister’s) in arms, give eternal rest of their ashes, peace to their souls and keep them until the hour of final Reveille, on that day when they shall be called before the Divine Commander. May all of our Nation’s Veterans be present and accounted for.

May ____________________ and the souls of all our departed Veterans Rest In Peace. AMEN.

AMVETS – Please Cover

Like those of us Veterans gathered here, ____________________ one day stood pledging (Himself/Herself) to God, Country and Duty. That pledge was to last for a lifetime for the good of all.

And so it is proper that we come together, as a grateful Nation to Honor (His/Her) Service to our Country and to show our respect for fulfilling (His/Her) Oath through (His/Her) membership in AMVETS.

Those of us gathered here are ____________________’s other Family. The Family of Veterans who have served this Great Nation. While we may have served at different times and in different locations, the camaraderie of service shared is a strong bond that ties us Veterans together.

We express to you our assurances that we never forget one of our own. This ceremony is only one in which we in AMVETS will conduct in memory of our departed (Brother/Sister). (His/Her) service to our Nation and Membership in AMVETS will be remembered.

As we entered, we laid a clover and offered a salute in (His/Her) memory. The White Clover Ceremony is the highest Honor one AMVET may bestow upon a fellow member.

The AMVETS Organization adopted the clover as it’s Symbol of rememberance shortly after the end of WWII. Our organization chose the clover because it grows where freedom flourishes. Freedom is what we Veterans served for, fought for and many from our ranks gave their lives for. The Green of the Clover represents the grass under which our ranks lay, the White of the Clover represents the crosses that mark their final resting places.

The White Clover is a symbol of rememberance. The clovers we presented in memory of our departed (Brother/Sister) bear a label with the simple words, “REMEMBER ME”.

On behalf of the Membership, I would like to thank the family for allowing me to pay this tribute to our departed (Brother/Sister).

May God bless our departed (Brother/Sister) and welcome (Him/Her) into HIS Kingdom.

May God bless (His/Her) family members, all of you in attendance here today and may God bless America.

(PRESENT THE SPOUSE WITH A BIBLE OR “ONE WHO SERVED” BOOK IN MEMORY OF THEIR LOVED ONE WITH THESE WORDS )

Please accept this small token of respect in memory of ____________________ from a Grateful Nation for (His/Her) Service to our Country.
