Higgins Lake Lodge and Cabins
AMVETS Higgins Lake Lodge and Cabins are located on the sandy shore of Higgins Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in the state of Michigan and reminiscent of the deep blue Mediterranean Sea with its array of colors. Built in 1881, the Lodge’s rustic charm is accentuated by surrounding forests and National Parks to the north and south.
The Lodge is perfect for those family get-togethers with 16 Rooms upstairs and a lower level suite with a master bath that faces the lake. In addition, there are seven Cabins. Six of the Cabins are 4 Bedroom, with Dining area, Living Room, Fully equipped Kitchen and two separate Baths. Wi-Fi and Roku TV’s are standard. For a nominal fee you can also enjoy our Weber Gas Grills for Barbecuing. In addition, you will enjoy the up-north feel that the 2 Bedroom Cabins provide; which are also fully equipped with everything you’ll need to enjoy your stay, including a Living Room, Bathroom, fully equipped Kitchen and additional amenities as in our larger cabins.
You’ll find that we’re conveniently located near the largest number of ATV, ORV & Snowmobile trails in the state. In the summer, we have a wonderful beach and swimming area. In the winter, there’s plenty of ice fishing and snowmobiling opportunities. The AMVETS Higgins Lake Lodge and Cabins are open year-round to make it easy to relax and enjoy all four seasons.
During the summer, boating, fishing and swimming are very popular at our lodge. Our swimming area extends 500 feet into Higgins Lake; the shallow water and sandy bottom make a wonderful play area for children and adults. Also popular in the warmer seasons, there are many world class golf courses in the area. Our Beach boasts a Playground with two Firepits and firewood which are thoroughly enjoyed by our guests.
During the Fall and Winter months you’ll enjoy that we are near state land for hunting Deer, Bear and Small Game. Lets not forget Ice Fishing. Also, there are many trails for hiking or bicycling within walking distance.
